Howdy Active Rainer's,     June is bookended with two very patriotic Holidays.  Memorial Day and July 4th with Flag Day being in the middle, on June 14th.  Let's show off 'Ole Glory', in Active Rain, and proudly show our 'Stars and Stripes' being flown across the USA.      June Challenge: post a photo of a different local flag being flown on two separate weeks  Whether a residence, or business.  Give as much of a description as you like but the post must be minimum of 100 words..  You will receive points for the 2 separate weeks posted.  An overall bonus available to post not only the two posts but a third post the final week of June to help celebrate July 4th.       Add links to all your posts, when completed, in the challenge comment section.  Endre Barath, Jr.  and myself (co-hosts) ...

If you have found yourself in a difficult situation like a truck accident, you should know what is to be done in this case in order to feel good about the same and make sure that things do not get ugly anymore. The challenge here is to analyze whether a particular situation can be understood by you or you need the help of others in order to understand what is to be done next. The best thing is to look for an accident lawyer in this case because they will be in a position to guide you with the possible solutions that are available for you and the way in which you can deal with the challenges that may come your way. Remind yourself that each and every opportunity you come across will be important for you and you will have to deal with them in a particular way only. Importantly, you should...

Dancing in the rain...or not                       Dancing can take on many forms.  Just last night we watch a show from the 1900's and were moved to laughter watching "The bear dance", quite popular in its day. Dancing is a form of expression that can mean many things to many different people.  Think of some of the phrases you hear in everyday life: Golfing: "On the dance floor"  (actually, quite a few sports use this analogy).  Dancing is GREAT!The beauty of...weather doesn't matter! The weather really isn't a concern when dancing.  Dance under the moonlight, dance in the rain,  dance in your kitchen or dance on the ballroom floor!  You can dance barefoot, in heels, or even in slippers.  There is no right or wrong way to dance.Unless, of course, you are dancing in a competition, just d...

JUNE IS NATIONAL HOMEOWNERSHIP MONTH Each year the month of June is National Homeownership Month... and June 2022 is no exception.   As President Biden's Proclamation of National Homeownership Month of June 2022 said: " Homeownership is a major source of generational wealth for many Americans — it is a central part of the American dream." Homeownership Month is a time to celebrate and promote the American Dream of owning a home. It's also great time to reflect on the many benefits of homeownership that go beyond the financial. Homeownership provides social stability, helps build safe neighborhoods, and contributes to the overall well-being of the American economy. And today, more than ever, our homes are our safe havens, our places to nurture hopes and dreams for the future.   8 Top Re...

Every now and then I ask the question, “How many people work at your company?” It is only about one third replied one executive. While that was meant to be a wise crack, the Gallup organization learned that the statement is accurate.  And this is true of real estate, insurance and other areas where people are considered independent and not employees. Here is why you should be concerned. The best way to illustrate the cost employee disengagement is with this story. I recently did a similar survey for an organization. This organization provides onsite catering and event services. Their requirements for success are a providing good service, great food, consistency, and a great guest experience. The ownership was struggling to get more business but having a hard time providing good service...

Joe is the master, with the morning chuckle. Bill “Seriously, Hiccups?”   An older woman, well past child-bearing years went to a walk-in clinic where she was seen by a young, new doctor. After about 3 minutes in the exam room, the doctor told her she was pregnant. She burst out the door, screaming as she ran down the hall. An older doctor stopped her and asked her what the problem was, and she told him what had happened. After hearing her out, he sat her down in another exam room and marched back to where the first doctor was and demanded, “What is the matter with you? That lady is over 60 years old, has four grown children and several grandchildren! And you told her she was pregnant?” The young doctor continued to write on his clipboard, and without looking up, he asked, “Does she sti...

In today’s housing market, many are beginning to wonder if we’re returning to the riskier lending habits and borrowing options that led to the housing crash 15 years ago. Let’s ease those concerns.Several times a year, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) releases an index titled the Mortgage Credit Availability Index (MCAI). According to their website:“The MCAI provides the only standardized quantitative index that is solely focused on mortgage credit. The MCAI is . . . a summary measure which indicates the availability of mortgage credit at a point in time.”Basically, the index determines how easy it is to get a mortgage. The higher the index, the more available mortgage credit becomes. Here’s a graph of the MCAI dating back to 2004, when the data first became available:As the graph...

There’s a saying, “You have to spend money to make money,” but we disagree! (Sometimes.)Yes, in the real estate industry, you do have to spend some money upfront, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend A LOT, especially when it comes to setting up a killer open house. This week, we’re diving into a real estate agent’s best lead generation tool - the open house.
