What Makes You Exceptional? This month, Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400 and I want to know what makes you exceptional?   It is estimated that in the United States alone, there are OVER 3 MILLION real estate agents, with over 1 million REALTORS.  While the number of US adults that are real estate agents is somewhere around ~.75-1%, it should be noted that there are estimated to be just about ~20,000 cities, towns, and villages in the US, with about three quarters of these areas having populations of 5,000 or fewer people. This means that to succeed and thrive in real estate, it’s important to stand out amongst a crowd! Over the years as a lender I’ve worked with many agents and some stand out more than others with parts of their process, the way they communicate, or their follow up....

There have been many comments and mentions about how some people respond to other blog posts. Here are some examples of unacceptable responses. The same cut-and-paste comment on multiple blogs.  A one-word answer like "yes" or "no." in the Q&A section Or answering, "I have no idea." Are you commenting just for points? A generic comment that has no relevance to the subject. "Thank you for sharing the information." Or... "Have a nice day."  If you have a gripe, do something about it!Do not call out the offending member. They are not your problem.   Encourage good comments. Ignore the "drive-by'' comments. Write meaningful responses to your followers and new bloggers.  If you disagree, do so in a professional manner.  If you think the content is not good practice, unethical, or not in the ...

Margaret Rome and John Meussner are hosting the Active Rain What Makes You Exceptional July 2023 Challenge. Exceptional Definition:  Adjective. You use exceptional to describe someone or something that has a particular quality, usually a good quality, to an unusually high degree. Source: Collins Dictionary The Challenge: This month, we want to know how you stand out and provide an experience for your customers that is exceptional amongst your industry peers. Do you have scripts or procedures that allow you to scale while providing rock-star-level service?  A concierge experience?  An awesome post-settlement process?  My Exceptionalism No scripts for me. I absolutely turn off when people script me. To me, it is a dead giveaway they have not yet honed skills. This is not someone I want to...

Central Florida loves Art and Craft Shows and if you are a lover of these events you found a home here.  Mount Dora known for their major Art and Craft Shows which draws thousands to Ocala that lines the historic square with displays and vendors.  The Villages host their own at the town squares and today it’s Brownwood Paddock Square. For many folks, retirement gives them the opportunity to have the time for a hobby or passion they longed for the time to pursue.  I see it in many homes in The Villages with a room for painting, quilting, jewelry making and the list goes on and many garages have woodworking or other equipment to enjoy free time doing what you love! This weekend July 1st and 2nd from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm come on out to The Paddock Square to stroll the streets and see what ...

There is a day for everything - and something to celebrate  for every day.  Today it is unusual flavor ice cream day. I had fun looking up unusual flavors like sake-pink peppercorn and olive oil (not together.)  Some flavors that you don't expect to go together actually work really well and are a pleasant surprise - others not so much. One of my past clients, Sarah Park, owns two ice cream stores with her daughter, Annie - Sarah's Handmade Ice Cream -  and I love to hear from her about new concoctions that she has made or is considering.  (She never asks me to come for a tasting while things are in development!)                   Sarah is a genius with making ice cream, but she and I have created some concepts together while walking Captain together.  (Just to be clear, I take no credit...

Except she wasn't on the bus! What a fancy bus Kat Palmiotti from Kalispell has and as soon as I saw it I was really excited... except she missed the bus and just sent her kids over here. Don't you love her giant monogram! Many of you know that I live a matter of about 50' from historic Corbett Field in Minot ND so the bus was just outside my door.It was a good game and the better team (Minot) won so I felt bad for Kat's kids having to ride that far home after a defeat. Oh well, that's life and baseball. So I am putting out the plea... Make the bus next time Kat!
