YouTube Thursdays - October 1st - Fodder to Foster Your Video Creativity   Wow, it's hard to believe it's already October 1st. We have summer weather this week at our home in Camas, Washington, still there's a whisper of fall in the air. Admittedly, Fall is my ( Debb's) favorite time of the year. Bernie says it's a toss up for him,  between spring and autumn.  Regardless, it's a good time to consider the opportunities for video marketing this month.   Obviously, the restrictions of 2020 remain in place for many of us and it will require a bit more creative thinking on our part. To help you get started, here are some ideas we're considering.   1.  Best drives for viewing fall foliage.   2.  Winterizing your house reminders.   3.  U-pick fruit orchards.   4.  Favorite fall recipe.  (caram...

As travel and showings are more restrictive due to COVID-19, remote property purchases are on the rise. My out-of-state buyers were referred to me by a family in Canyon Creek. Fortunately, technology makes it easier to provide virtual options for viewing and purchasing homes. Inventory is tight and looks like this trend will continue in Austin for some time.My buyers first choice was to make a purchase in Canyon Creek and we found the perfect one! It fits all their criteria for their family, is in the same community as their friends and they are thrilled.I've videoed the home for them and their friends face timed walking them through the house and they couldn't be happier. The home is under contract, past inspections and option period so they will be closing on their current home and on...

On Monday September 28, 2020 we laid to rest Handsome Hudson and Beautiful Beckett's Grandmother...Teresa Ann Orth. Teresa was their moms mother who she slipped away at a early age of 66 from early Alzheimer's, a cruel and debilitating disease. When the disease took hold earlier this year it was a swift decline into a world of her own. Alzheimer's took away her ability to walk, or even move her body, talk and eventually swallow. Teresa finally gave up her fight against this horrible disease, but not before it robbed her of precious time she could have spent with her family and others who cared for her.It was a beautiful day with cooler temperatures, blue sky and sun as the family gathered for a grave side service. Teresa laid to rest only 5 rows away from their Paw Paw Gene. Many childr...

Over the years a lot of Realtors have called me asking for help and many have grown quite successful with the tools that were provided. As the months and years ticked on my phone has become 70% other realtors calling/texting me for help too. The truth is that I simply didn’t have the time to help everyone while maintaining my business and family life. I started recording videos explaining things as best as I could and eventually realized that I actually could help every single person who asked I needed to record the answers to every question I could think of in an organized way and put all of these recordings in a super simple single platform. And then, go live every other Tuesday night to answer any of their questions on Zoom! While also adding them to a private Facebook group just fo...

Maryland Ban On Plastic Foam Food Containers Takeout food service will never be the same after this week in Maryland when a ban on plastic foam cups and food containers takes effect. Implementation of the ban was delayed from July 1 to October 1, 2020 to let businesses gear up while dealing with coronavirus restrictions. Proponents say the ban will protect the environment and keep plastic foam out of area waterways and landfills. Maryland is the first state in the country to prohibit use of foam containers, the Baltimore Sun reported. With restaurant use shifting largely to takeout in recent months, the amount trash generated has soared nationwide, jumping 22 percent in Baltimore, the newspaper said. Buyers Are Finding More Space in the Luxury Home Market A year ago, additional space and extra amenities had a very different feel for homebuyers. Today, the health crisis has brought to light how valuable more square footage and carefully designed floorplans can be. Home offices, multi-purpose rooms, gyms, and theaters are becoming more popular, and some families are finding the space they need for these upgrades in the luxury market. The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing (ILHM) explains: “With quarantine concerns still top of mind for many luxury buyers, we see large, sprawling estates making their comeback. For instance, the last six months have seen a resurgence in the buying of mega mansions and estate-size homes – specifically properties that offer space (both inside and outside...
