Home values have been going up through the US and Canada now for the past few years. The housing collapse of 2008 was very terrifying and devastating for millions of people, but the market has now recovered and more and more people are looking to sell their homes for a higher price, extract more equity out of their houses, or simply create that dream home they’ve always wanted. Home renovations are the common denominator here with all of these different wants and desires.  Getting home renovations typically involves taking a room, or multiple rooms in a home and refurbishing them with new floors, appliances, paint, and more for an updated look. Though one thing to keep in mind here is that nobody renovates their home to go backwards. So nobody wants a renovation that leaves their home ...

An electrical panel controls all electrical components in a building. The home or building is divided into units. There are then places in different circuits on the panel. A circuit breaker protects those circuits from excess currents due to shorts or overloads. The breaker and the electrical panel are essential for every building that uses electricity to power internal devices.  Most homeowners do not think about their electrical panels until a problem presents itself. At that point, they may call a master electrician to fix the problem. An electrician can easily fix whatever issues arise. However, there are signs that you can look for that will keep you from needing expensive and time-consuming emergency electrical repairs. You experience flickering lights and electric shocks Do you ...

The housing market is a very tricky thing to get figured out. It’s up and down and around and around, and no one can predict what’s going to happen next month, much less next year. Though one principle of the housing market that’s tried and true and always proves out is that homes that have been renovated are worth a lot more than homes that haven’t been.  This is why millions of homeowners are going through home renovations right now, in order to increase the value of their property. Though while it’s easy to see that renovating a home can increase its value, some people still want to know why. What is it, exactly, about renovating a home that’s so appealing to the market and increases the value so much?  5 Ways Renovations Up the Value of Your Home 1: Appraisal Equity One of the best ...

While most people think about the benefits of property management for owners, they are not the only ones who will see a change. Renters are also deeply affected by the presence of a property manager. Fortunately, with the right management company in place, these changes can largely be positive. In fact, with the best management team, your renters will see dramatic improvements to the quality of their living situation. Here are the top five benefits that a property manager can provide for your renters.  Renters Get Repair Work Completed Sooner One reason renters love when property management takes over is repair work. A lack of consistent, quality repairs is a huge complaint for renters. When things go wrong in their unit, renters want a quick resolution. They do not want to live with a ...

Mario Mahony was born in Chicago, Illinois back in 1871 to Jeremiah and Clara.  In 1880, the family moved to Winnetka.  She graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), right now before writing the rest of this I can tell you she was way beyond me in her knowledge, so let’s continue. She returned to Chicago working in her cousin’s architecture firm, with someone you may have heard of Frank Lloyd Wright.  In 1895, she was the first employee hired by Mr. Wright working for him for almost fifteen years. When Mr. Wright left for Europe his firm was taken over by Herman V. von Holst, he gave Mario complete control of design. In that capacity, she designed Henry Ford’s Dearborn mansion and the Amberg House in Grand Rapids. What you may not know about Marion Mahony Griffin i...

Do you have lead capture forms on your website? If so, how quickly do you respond? Hopefully, you can’t always respond immediately. If you could, it would mean you didn’t have any clients who need your attention. But unless you’re ill or injured, you can respond within a few hours, or at least within a day. Perhaps, after reading the statistics that say a lead goes from hot to cold within an hour, you don’t bother. I think you should – and you should do it as quickly as possible. Even two days later is better than nothing. But if you wait too long... After a week or more, that lead probably doesn’t want to hear from you. They would (perhaps rightfully?) assume that you wouldn’t be an attentive agent. In addition, they've probably found someone else to answer their questions. It was def...
