(Performance Development Strategies)
Do you have some dreams that you would like to become realities? Are you willing to create a plan to get there? Your plan will consist of several goals. Although some people have dreams many never get past the dream stage because they have no goals. A goal is really a dream with a timetable. First, let’s build the dream and then create the goals to get there.Do an inventory of your dreams and write them down. Can you visualize them and verbalize them? Visualizing and verbalizing your dream will create the motivation to achieve. In fact, a burning desire to make your dream a reality will create the urgency to make your dreams come true. If you have made goals in the past and have not achieved them, you probably did not have the burning desire to achieve them. New Year’s resolutions fall ...

Staging - Beyond the Visuals When we think of staging, we often think about the ‘visual’ impact that a home will have on potential buyers. Our mission is to stage each home so as to capture the interest of as many potential buyers as possible.   Yes, staging involves sight, but the sounds, smells and even tactile effects of the house are just as important as the visuals. In fact, all of our senses can subtly impact the emotional response of buyers and yes, all buyers, whether they are conscious of it or not, are buying with their senses. Our goal as the listing agent is to make all of our sellers' guests feel 'at home.'   What do I mean 'buying with their senses?' Visual:  First impressions, quality you can 'see' in the home's construction, appointments you can 'see,’ staging that is vi...

Moving house is already a stressful process, but to add insult to injury, it’s also an expensive one. From packing your stuff to hauling it to the new house, remodeling it, and furnishing it, every single step comes with a price tag that usually stings a bit. However, there are little “cheats” you can use to save a bit of cash when you’re moving house.Ask Your Friends To Give You A HandOne of the most groan-worthy tasks you’ll have in a new home is painting everything and giving everything that fresh, new feeling. But with both exteriors and interiors needing a fresh coat of paint, as well as every little corner and detail, you could use some help from your friends, so you can save money on painters. This goes for everything, from packing up your things, to getting a moving truck, hauli...

In today's busy world, people are always on the go. They keep moving for education, work, and family reasons. If you're a real estate company or an agent, you're all too familiar with this. When people keep moving or when they want to squeeze in some time through their busy schedule, you end up meeting them in the coffee shops, or sometimes, just on the roads to help understand if there is a match between what they want and what you can offer. As an agent, you're pretty much everywhere too! Most times, you prefer your clients to email documents or call you on your cell phone, so you can answer their questions and keep the buying/selling process going even if you're on the move. An added advantage is this does not tie you down to your desk, so you can make the most of your time. Now that...

The purpose of a VA loan is to provide affordable financing for current military, Veterans, and qualified surviving spouses to purchase, refinance, or build a primary residence. But sometimes there is a roadblock called the VA loan occupancy requirement. Although these solutions are not spelled out in the VA guidelines, we have a long history of helping Veterans and service members purchase a home where full time occupancy within 60 days is not possible. Recently, we have seen a surge in these requests. So, the goal of this article is to provide proof there are VA solutions to these primary occupancy issues. This is a long article. But, the reason is that there are so many VA loan solutions for a primary residence purchase. So, we want to share them. Check it out and contact us with you...

Stanley Aaron Dashew was born in Harlem, New York back in 1916. When he was eight he collected soda pop bottles to redeem them at the local redemption center. At twelve he went door-to-door selling peaches. At fifteen he became a Hires Root Beer reseller where he sold the soda at a roadway stand. He worked for the Addressograph-Multiraph Company in sales, he didn’t like the wording on his business card so he changed it to read “Special Representative”. In 1942, he was promoted and moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan. He later worked for the Bank of America, it was there that his fortune changed. In 2000, Chancellor Albert Carnesale presented him with the UCLA Medal, the university’s highest honor. What you may not know about Stanley is that he invented something that I carry everywhere and I...

I love the fall: it is my favorite season of all time and today is the beginning of meteorological fall. For me this month, this year is also significant because I have to totally liquidate the space I have created in the Antique Gallery where I have worked for two years. It is a really big job but it will get done because I have no choice. I will pack my SUV today after work and do the same everyday until it is done. I have been posting on Facebook marketplace and loading the finished room I have above my garage. Still have some big pieces of furniture that I must sell but I am hopeful. October is coming and it will be better I hope.

September Is National Preparedness Month September has arrived and with it the peak of the hurricane season, which can last into November. And with Hurricane Dorian threatening so much of the Southeast, it's none to soon to remember that September is National Disaster Preparedness Month. With more than 80% of us living in areas prone to weather-related disasters, it's important to be prepared with an emergency plan. More people live without such a plan than those who have one. The theme of the 2019 National Preparedness Month is  "Prepared, Not Scared."  Resources To Help You Prepare For DisastersEach September, National Preparedness Month encourages and reminds Americans to be prepared for disasters or emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities.
