ActiveRain October Challenge: My Favorite Success Story
The October challenge for ActiveRain blogger members is to post a favorite blogging success story. I've been retired for several years, so it is difficult to select a single success story from the many relationships and transactions that made my retirement possible.
During the last twenty years of my real estate career my personal focus was on the sale of foreclosures. I referred listings and regular sales transactions to my several associates while I worked exclusively with foreclosure purchasers and the government agencies marketing foreclosures. So, my marketing challenge was to generate referrals to keep several associates busy and highly productive while attracting foreclosure purchasers that would allow me to close a high volume of transactions each year.
My real estate advertisements, my mailers and my blog posts focused primarily on the foreclosures sector. Everybody wants to find bargains and one of the benefits of foreclosures is the assumption by prospects that they are bargains. My blogs contained lists of available foreclosures and information on many of the specific properties in my market area. I could frequently use the same content for mailers or mass email distributions that I had in my blog posts.
My most productive success stories related to investor clients who worked with me to purchase many properties. The most satisfying transactions were with the home buyers who were purchasing their first home. I added to my production by also purchasing many properties for my own account, and reselling them after renovations. I always listed owned properties with one of my associates.
My stories relating to real estate sales are all from the past. So, I will talk about one of my favorite blogging success stories during my retirement.
Dolores and I read over a hundred books each year and I have posted blogs recommending hundreds of books. If you use the ActiveRain search field to search for Book Recommendation, Roy Kelley, you will find a long list of book recommendations that I have posted.
My favorite success story related to blogs read by Wayne Martin. Wayne has frequently commented that I convinced him to read novels in addition to the non-fiction works that were his previous focus. During recent years, Wayne has reported that he has read many novels.
