Charlotte, North Carolina blogger Debe Maxwell, CRS has issued the May Challenge for ActiveRain blogger members.
Simply post your favorite photo of a flower (or more than one in one blog post) that you are especially fond of. Include the name of the flower and any additional information about where the photo was taken and why it's your favorite.
By sharing our love for these beautiful flowers, we can bring a little bit of joy and positivity to the world. Let's embrace the challenge and celebrate the wonders of springtime together!
Since flower photography is a hobby for me, It is a challenge to select favorites among my photographs. So, I decided to select one kind of flower and use photographs taken on one day in the spring. My selection of locations was Longwood Gardens.
Longwood Gardens is one of our favorite destinations for day trips. The location is in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, a little over a two hour drive north from our home in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Longwood Gardens is a wonderful place to visit at any time during the year. In the spring, there are thousands of flowers to view and enjoy.
They have a very large conservatory for indoor displays and many acres of flowers on display in the outdoor spaces. There is much walking to do and Dolores prefers to drive one of the electric carts available for visitors. We usually visit in the morning and then take a break for lunch in the dining area before doing additional touring with our cameras in hand. Sometimes, we will visit another attraction or two in the area which might be the Brandywine Museum of Art, a favorite restaurant or a brewery or winery tasting room. It is a wonderful area to explore.
My flower selection was tulips. and I am posting a few photographs for your enjoyment. If you follow my blog posts, you have seen many other flowers from Longwood Gardens and other locations.
