In Florida, you do not have to state your name, but if you state your name, you have to state your last name.  You do have to include the brokerage.

In other words, you can say, "Call 222-222-2222 at XYZ Realty."

Or you can say "Call John Smith at 222-222-2222 at XYZ Realty."

You can NOT say, "Call John at 222-222-2222 at XYZ Realty."

Also, it has to be the last name that is registered with the Florida Real Estate Commission.  So if your legal name is Susie Smith-Brown, but you want to use Smith professionally, you can't.  You have to use Smith-Brown.

Funny, I received the same request and in NC & SC, yes, you are required to do that.

I can't IMAGINE CA would not require that as they seem to have an overabundance of regulations!

Yes, in California we are required to include our Department of Real Estate license number and contact information in marketing communications.

Does everyone do that?  That would be a big NO.

Set Schedule is like an effin BAD RASH! They DO NOT GO AWAY and you have to block them like whack a mole continually after unplugging multiple times!

When they 'have a few prospects in our area' that's not a referral but a grift.

Most likely they won't have anything for us that we don't already have or can get without them. If they are legit referring a prospect they will notify that they have a referral sheet and see if they can send to us.

In California, you must disclose your license on any first point of contact with a potential client.  Since this is a B2B or realtor-to-realtor referral, there is no requirement for disclosure, since in theory you are both licensees.

What Karen Climer said.

In Florida, failing to identify yourself (including your last name) and your brokerage (as registered with Florida DBPR) at any "point of contact", can result in disciplinary action from the Florida Real Estate Commission.

You are in all advertising and one needs to identify agent's name, brokerage, and the CA Department of Real Estate number.  You can go to DRE website and check to see if they're legit.   Search by name and/or license number.  If you have the Brokerage name, the website also lists their agent roster.

I have to identity myself as licensed to the public and other agents.  I don't do blind solicitations like that person did.  All advertising requires brokerage name and number the same size or larger and the same or more frequency.  People violate this all the time, but our investigations are 3 years behind so I don't think people care much.

In CT we are always required to identify the brokerage along with other information. However, I don't think there is much oversight.

We, in California are required to show our company and DRE License Number on anything we share with the public anywhere.  I don't have a clue about how other states handle this matter.
