Hi Bill- I have to agree with Ron and Alexandra Seigel it helps to add variety to what we do, including our posts. It adds a layer to the person that we get to see and it lets us know you better.

Anytime I see the word "ripple," I'm reminded of that James Foley poem that starts "Drop a pebble in the water; just a splash and it is gone; But there's half-a-hundred ripples circling on and on and on, Spreading, spreading from the center, flowing on out to sea And there is no way of telling where the end is going to be." Then the poem talks about how a negative comment can have far reaching effects, as can a positive one.  Your flower photos may be sending positivity to people far away from you. That's such a wonderful thought.

I couldn't agree more..the ripple effect is a good way to put it. Mixing in a bit of the personal side here and there definitely lets people know you're not a robot!

I guess I'll need to reach out to you on FB to see your flower pictures--they sound lovely, and indeed would be a glorious treat to see rather than so many acrimonious posts.

I do the same as you, Bill. I tend to take my camera everywhere and snap away at the flowers I see, frequently sharing on Facebook. Like you, I think it's good to let people see our personal side. I found this through the August link to Being Human. 

That first sentence about how once you form a habit you can become obsessive about it, sounds so very much like me.  I sometimes really need to reassess if those habits are serving me well.

Oh, and I meant to mention that the picture with the peach colored flower is absolutely gorgeous!

Hi Bill -- what a smart way to tie in your "new" FB habit, a contest and consistency all together in a nice package.  I like how you have decided to address the political tug-of-war that is occurring in social media with the efforts from your garden.   I imagine it's therapeutic on multiple levels and definitely a better way to toss around some dirt.  

For me, this was a very soothing post that reminded me that we all need to slow down for a moment and appreciate the simple things.  I really needed that this morning.

A blog post every day.
