Ask An Ambassador- How important is it to be a Rainmaker?
ActiveRain allows new members to sign up as just members (Rainers) with no paid account and limited services. This is a good way to get familiar with the platform before you buy in. You can post Members Only posts and make comments and ask questions in the Q&A.
What you cannot do is make your posts Public and get the SEO advantage of blogging about your listings, neighborhoods and showing your expertise to consumers. Other ActiveRain members can read your posts but they cannot reblog your posts. You are shut out from doing this with you limited membership.
If you want to expand your blog exposure you will need to upgrade to be a Rainmaker. This is the way to grow your business and I can tell you that if you write posts about your niche and specialties you will make a name for yourself and get leads over time. It doesn't happen instantly and it takes time to build on this. One thing for sure is if your posts are not available to the public they will not know what you are writing about.
I see some Rainers write posts like they are writing to the consumers. They are only reaching the real estate professionals in the ActiveRain network. Though this may build some relationships with the members it most likely will not grow your business. You must be a Rainmaker to have public posts.
This benefit of having your posts rank on the search engines is powerful. Buyers and sellers are looking on the web for real estate information, neighborhood reports and to learn more about buying and selling. They can and will find you if you are posting and using good SEO practices. I know a Rainmaker account works because it has worked for me and so many others.
The public seeing my posts is why I joined ActiveRain in the first place. I wanted the exposure and to drive business to my website. I cannot count the business that it has brought in because it has been so much.
For each 100,000 of points you earn your monthly fee drops. When you reach the half million (500,000 points) mark your membership is free. That comes much sooner than you might think and for some that aggressively blog and comment, it can be done in about a year's time.
Ask An Ambassador- How important is it to be a Rainmaker? It is very important.
If you serious about your business then I encourage you to add this to your marketing budget and plan to be a Rainmaker. It makes good business sense to be found on the search engines. This is how you can become an authority in your area. You have the knowledge and it's time to let the public see it through your ActiveRain blog.
