Reblogs (Resharing a Post) Can Get Lots of Views Too.
First you have to understand what a reblog is. It is republishing or sharing a post through the ActiveRain network that someone else wrote. They will get attribution and a byline for their post. You can write an introduction about your thoughts on the subject or not. The entire post will be shared in its original format.
Some members do not give permission for their posts to be reblogged. There is a block in your blog settings where you can decide to allow it or not. Activating the setting allows your posts to be reblogged. The post must be a Public post for it to qualify for the reblog feature. Rainers (those not having a Rainmaker account) do not have an option to have their posts reblogged.
Why would someone want to reblog a post? There is so much good content on ActiveRain and many times these good posts are missed or not seen because of the timing of publishing. By reblogging the post, you are helping spread the word about this post and the author. It will come up on your blog and your followers can read it, too. This can get you comments and get comments for the original author.
If you reblog a post you will earn 25 points. You are only awarded points for one reblog a day but may reblog many posts in one day. They will not get publishing points but may get some comment points each time someone makes a comment.
Others don't reblog any other writer's posts and prefer to write a response or fresh new content. They will sometimes reference the inspiration post or link to the topic post.
Some of the posts I have reblogged have received more views and clicks than many of my original posts. I choose the posts carefully and have to like the message. Another word of caution is to make sure you know the content is original content and the photos in the post are used with permission. You are attaching your name to the post and should be confident the information is used properly.
If you aren't a reblogger that is okay. If you want to be one, then find a good post and click the reblog button that is located at the bottom of the post, before the comment section begins on the right hand side. a window opens for you to write an introduction if you wish then publish it. It will get the post many more looks and the original author will be appreciative, too.
Ask an Ambassador- What is a reblog and should I do it?
