Each time I meet a new client either as a referral or a sign call, I wonder how long I will know them. Not how long they will be clients, but how long we'll both be around to enjoy each other's company. You see, my clients aren't just clients, they're like family.
Yesterday was the second day of an estate sale for a new client. I met this client who lives across the street from another estate sale and home sale that I processed in March, 2023. This new client and friend is a retired doctor, Colonel USAF who lost his wife in February of this year.
He's become such a good friend that it's been a joy to help him transition into the next chapter of a different home. It's a bit nostalgic as I know how old he is; I'm 21 years younger. I could be hit by a truck tomorrow but it's more than likely that he'll go before I do. He's such a wonderful person, a caring individual and is a deacon in his church.
Tomorrow is the final day of his estate sale and then we'll decide what day the sale of his home will become live to the public. I'm already thinking of how I can visit and how often is too much!
It's a joy to help others sell their homes, buyers buying homes, and helping people get from point A to point B. But sometimes, It tugs at your heart strings. I don't think the public realizes that we are more than real estate agents we're oftentimes their friends and best support systems through those transitionary times.
Coordinating an estate sale, repairs and clean out before selling a home takes good communication and coordination of efforts!
