The June Active Rain Contest: AI
It’s January 2024 and my world has changed. Due to some clever AI Christmas presents, I’ve fully immersed myself in the world of Artificial Intelligence. My garage door opens for me automatically because my car communicates with my house upon approach or starting my engine.
My AI home security cameras use facial recognition to allow or warn of approaching friends or strangers. Because it works with my iPhone’s contact list, I’m told who’s arriving before they’re up my driveway. The local news feeds criminal faces to my system to automatically call the police if a fugitive or known offender is caught on camera at my property’s perimeter.
My AI house operates on its own, adjusting HVAC, water heater, sprinklers, and lighting to time of day, usage trends and weather patterns.
My home real estate AI office powers on at 6:00AM and my calendar hologram alerts my COO of my day’s schedule as I seat myself at my desk. My CRM opens up the to do list for my CEO time, and my banking AI requests permission to make payments and log transactions in my accounting software which sends monthly reports to my CPA automatically.
My AI car has already been programmed with my daily schedule from my calendar and knows my destinations and verifies through my phone APP as to departure times required from current location, fuel requirements and traffic updates that affect departure and travel times.
My mobile AI on my phone alerts me to who’s calling and if they are a client, the reminder of their buyer/seller status and why they may be calling based on our previous calls.
This and much more will be how I enjoy the use of AI in 2024. But here’s what AI will never replace. Time spent with my bride, son, family, and friends. It will never garden for me, read for me, play drums for me, blog for me, or be allowed to fly planes for me unless I choose autopilot. It will never cook for me, exercise, and hike for me, although my Peloton is a fun mix of AI and human. AI will always be the servant to my master brain, imagination, and drive. It will enhance my living, but it will never languish how I live, love or enjoy in this life.
