This is an unlikely post and I had no idea that I would be writing it. The first and second week in November we were in Florida. I remember on the Zoom call on November 8th, some asked me how I was making out with late year hurricane. I just referred to it as a rain event. That is to say I wasn't taking it seriously.
I am usually not around during the hurricanes and I have someone I call to put to put up the storm shutters and then take them down. This time I was on my own.
Some people were putting up shutters others were not. I didn't know what to do so I started putting them up. It was harder than I thought, the wind was blowing. I stopped after three windows because it was also getting dark. Fortunately, they were not necessary since the storm was not that strong in our area.
That was it. I decided to find out about accordion shutters but I wouldn't want them in the front of my house. How about high impact windows.? I called Home Depot. Those two windows had a premium price because of just two. I asked for an estimate for the entire house. I was pleasantly surprised. The second quote from a local company was even better.
I am ordering from the local company and hope to have them installed in February. No more worries about calling someone for shutters when I am in New York and no more worries when I am there. Oh, also, I think that they also save energy, right Jan Green - Scottsdale, AZ ?
This is my third gratitude post for this month's challenge hosted by Debe Maxwell, CRS .
