This is my second gratitude post is inspired by the one Kat Palmiotti . Kat wrote about her community. I have not left a community for another but I have added one and I am loving it;
We have participated in many community groups over years. We have volunteer for groups such as Armonk Friends and Neighbors, helping children with their painting of Halloween windows, town clean up day and others I can no longer remember.
When I think of community I think of a group of people who have each other's backs. People are friendly and seek relationships. I find the same in my second community.
First of all, my next door neighbor in Florida always has my back. I also have his. We text back and forth. One recent one was after Ian. "Your fan blade came off in the storm but I saved the blade and found screws for you."
This reminds me of a story...
A young man approached a farmer and his helper. The young man asked, "What kind of people live here?" The farmer responds with a question. "What type of people were in your old community?" "They were unkind and selfish and I was glad to leave there," replied the young man. "You'll find the same here," replied the farmer.
The next day another young man approached the farmer and his helper. The young man asked, "What kind of people live here?" The farmer asked, "What type of people were in your old community?" "Oh, they were so kind and compassionate that I really hated to leave," responded the young man. "You'll find the same here," replied the farmer.
"Wait," said the farmers helper, "How could you give a different answer to the same question?" "Simple son," said the farmer, "it is carried in the heart of the beholder."
Neighbor and communities provide support and I have happy for the support of my communities in Armonk and Port Saint Lucie.
This is my second entry to the Thanksgiving challenge hosted by Debe Maxwell, CRS .
