La Quinta Country Club Series:  1. Ladies Rule!

The Ladies at La Quinta Country Club play a big role in making the club a first class and desirable place to play golf, live, and have fun!  Unlike some clubs that cater to the boys, LQCC has a vibrant and active ladies group with a full calendar of events.  

Our season opening day this year will be the first week of November, play will begin followed by the lively opening party that weekend. Our superintendent oversees the maintenance of the course to meticulous standards.  The course is closed for overseeding during the month of October and is groomed to perfection for the season.

The ladies group is led by the Ladies Auxiliary, our board, who organize and oversee multiple fun golf events each season.  The first turkey themed event in November is always very popular! December features our festive Member-Member tournament complete with a costume contest!  It is a great way to kick off the holiday season!

After the new year we begin with and Eclectic tournament and have our first guest day, with 2 more during the season.  President's Cup is in February which is a Match Play 2-person team event, and is played over the course of 2 weeks, and consists of nine-hole matches.  It is very competitive and lots of fun!

The end of February in our major member guest called the Fiesta Allegre, you and your partner compete against similar handicap players.   It starts out with a practice round and cocktail party and the formats vary each year.  Many players have played with the same partner for years and it is a wonderful tradition!

March brings another guest day,  and in April we hold the Club Championship.  I am proud to say I have brought home that trophy over 8 times, and I'm looking forward to competing again this season!

The final tournament of the season is The Last Blast , with a groovy pairings party at the fountain and skills challenges!  It is usually 2 person teams and a mixed format.  We celebrate the amazing season and say farewell to many of our members as they head back home for the summer.  

All in all, La Quinta Country Club has a vibrant ladies group who share not only golf, but lifelong friendships!  You will love it here!

Your Feature image made my heart flutter. I love love love the Palm Springs area. My favorite Par 3 walking course is Palm Royale in LaQuinta. Have you played that one?

First post of the Challenge and about something that I appreciate. The participation of women at any golf course is all about their enthusiasm and drive. Men may have more numbers but that shouldn't deter women from doing their thing. Our course has women competing in weekly tournaments with the men.
