Minot is home to two restaurants that bill themselves as "Diner"s. There is the Sonic's Chain at 1601 35th Avenue SW .

Then there is the local Krolls Diner. Krolls has always been a big favorite of the community, especially the German community as they specialize in Knoephla soup, Fleischkuechle, and of course Sausage & Sauerkraut. They also have great American platters that are usually bigger than your stomach.

Kroll's diner has great food BUT they also have great advertisements featuring their two German ladies. Their website is NOT Kroll's but SitDownAndEat which is their slogan. Check out this 30 second video.

I couldn't find the original ad but all spots used to end with a big German waitress ordering us to "Sit down and Eat!"

OMG Bob that video cracked me up!  Those ladies are awesome.  You'll Eat It And You'll Like It! Good ole German food, haven't had any in ages.

There is something just special about going into an older diner and getting a meal. It somehow brings back the times spent there when considerably younger.

Their ads have always been a hoot Anna "Banana" Kruchten and the food is always good at Kroll's Diner.

There is a lot of fun memorabilia on the walls Ed (Edward) Silva, 203-206-0754 . My favorite is an old Volkswagen advertisement saying "Still less than a dollar a pound". Don't you wish we could buy a new car for less than a dollar a pound today?

There are a lot of small town cafes in neighboring communities and most of them are wonderful places to visit Wayne Martin , you always get your moneys worth.

Hannah Williams the food is so good they probably never have that problem anyway. That being said the real waitresses are not at all intimidating.
