Name Your Fabulous Spring Flower Challenge

By
Real Estate Agent with HomeStarr Realty RS143922A

What is my favorite spring flower? It is very hard to choose they are all so beautiful I love them all. Debe Maxwell, CRS  challenged us to write about it. April and May have been very dry months for us in the Philadelphia area. It was more like June and July as far as temperatures go. I hope that doesn't mean we are going to have a rainy Summer. Who knows the weather has been so unpredictable.

Not many of my indoor plants survived the winter except my orchids which have not bloomed yet. I am sure they will soon as they look very healthy. My Ponytail Palm is now sitting outside and is extremely hardy healthy and happy.

My Petunias are one of my very favorites as they are hardy in our climate but also need a great deal of water. They also come in many varieties and colors. I like to have them in hanging baskets as my soil is full of rocks. I am right by the river and was very surprised when first trying to plant. I love to purchase them at Produce Junction in Bensalem. Today I went and they were taking them right off the truck. The prices were great, especially for the size and condition!  Turned out I left my wallet there and did not even know. The owner found it and called me. I went back Thanked him and purchased two more plants and some fresh asparagus.

My very favorite are hydrangeas. When I was a child I called them snowball plants. They also come in a variety of colors and once they take root grow into beautiful flowering bushes. I love them so much that when "Dooney and Bourke" came out with a handbag pattern with hydrangeas flowers I just had to have one. The problem was picking which style I wanted there were so many to choose from

A few weeks ago, my favorite spring flower was the Red Pearl. I used that for the May Challenge. This past weekend I was in Tucson, AZ visiting family. We went to the Saguaro National Park, and I've learned about the Saguaro cactus. Now I think its flower might be my favorite. I'm still trying to decide, haha! The Saguaro is VERY INTERESTING.

All the best.

I assume Kieran Jackson it is a cactus flower. I have never had luck with cactus. That is a beautiful flower

Yes, its the cactus that you can see in the background. The Saguaro. It only grows east of the Colorado river. It can take this cactus 10 years to grow half a foot tall. Its very interesting!

Those are some beautiful flower pictures Hannah Williams . Dry periods are very hard to deal with. I don't like the expense of watering my lawn so I seldom do but if you don't the grass dies and all you have is weeds. That is what happened to us last year.

Bob "RealMan" Timm I live in a condo development and we have gardeners but they are not doing their job. They let the grass in the middle of a section that needs to be whacked grow. I do not know what kind of plant they think it is but it is a weed. If I tell them to cut it they say no habla English

Carol Williams I just love these flowers but this year the gardeners mowed them down and left the weeds. Go figure!

Your flowers are as bright and beautiful as you, Hannah! LOVE that hydrangea - such gorgeous color. I forgot if that is alkaline or acidic soil that makes it that color?! I always get them to turn pink and still don't know what I'm doing to get them to 'match' the soil! LOL

I'm SO glad the owner found your wallet and phoned you - how lucky is that?! That was so nice of you to purchase a few more items too.

Thank you so much for participating in this month's challenge, Hannah!

Debe Maxwell, CRS Thank you so much for hosting this month's challenge! The Hydrangea I showed was in a pot, unfortunately, the one I planted the gardeners mowed down. I am hoping to plant this one if I can get through the rocky soil. If not I will give it to my neighbor,

I was so lucky the owner found my wallet as  did not know it was missing and when I realized it was I would have been frantic

Good morning, Hannah... I adore hydrangeas... and mine are that beautiful blue/purple color. I like that color so much, my house is painted that color! I also happen to own that hydrangea handbag by Dooney & Burke and carry it all summer long.

Nina Hollander, Broker I have one too!

Which style do you have? helpfulhannah

Hannah Williams I have the satchel style, which is my favorite style of handbag in general.

Nina Hollander, Broker I am sorry I did not get the small cross body as when I go shopping this style is my go-to bag now a days

Hannah Williams I have one cross body bag and hardly use it... just don't like having something hanging across me like that.. and if I put everything in it I need, it's just too heavy around the neck.
