My skin began to turn red
And after three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead"
Good morning Ray,
I missed your entry and just found it now. What a wonderful post on your new home! New beginnings are always eventful....nice you are closer to your dad and step mom. I'm sure they appreciate you living closer and more a part of their lives. With your personality and desire to stay busy I'm sure you're going to meet like minded people and make a decision on business when the time is right!

Thank you, Dorie Dillard Austin TX. It will be nice to leave near my dad and step mom. I think I am warming up to getting back to work again. This is the longest I have gone without working for a VERY long time.
your photos, especially the sunrise image, are beautiful - I can see why you like your new life given the ability to enjoy weather in the 70s in Feb and March! And PebbleCreek sounds like it has plenty of offerings to keep people busy

Love that your Dad led the way to the desert for you and Mary Margaret, Ray! I believe that areas of 'transition' and retirement areas are so wonderfully welcoming to newcomers - because nearly everyone IS a newcomer!
It sounds like you're having a total blast in your new area and spending time learning more about the area, meeting others and enjoying the lifestyle to its fullest.
Coincidentally, in a few hours, we are meeting friends (still here in Vegas) from Lake Havasu. They talk about the incredible heat but, the beauty of the land, the abundance of outdoor activities and the friendliness of the area are going to keep them there through retirement, I believe.
Thank you for participating in February's challenge, Ray. I have been out of town this week and time was quite limited to get to read the last few day's entries. Thanks for your patience!

Thank you, Lise Howe! There are so many things to do here that I do not know how I am going to fit work into the picture. I will have to focus on that soon.
Hi Debe Maxwell, CRS! When we were looking at different retirement communities in Florida, Arizona and Tennessee, we noticed that everyone was friendly wherever we went. I think you are correct. There are so many newcomers that everyone is enjoying the experience. We were stopped all of the time by those that just wanted to tell us how great their community was and how much there was to do. It is true. It is easy to find things to do in PebbleCreek.
We have driven by the Lake Havasu area a bunch of times on our drives from CA to AZ and back, but have never stopped to explore the area. MM and I need to do that soon.
I do not know how you fit in everything you need to do in a day. Thank you for taking a few minutes to leave a thoughtful comment on my post. I certainly appreciate it!
Pebble Creek sounds like a wonderful place to be! And wow, that's a lot of pickleball courts and tennis courts!

Good morning Ray. Did my fired, Brian England treat you to an adult libation at the end of the hike? He likes to partake, ha, ha! Enjoy your day and the weather.

Good morning, Kat Palmiotti. It is a fun place to be. Some friends put a pickleball social on yesterday afternoon. There was some fun pickleball played, great food and MARGARITAS! ! ! I love a good Margarita!
Good morning, Wayne Martin. I do not think I enjoyed an adult beverage on that occasion with Brian England. We have had the pleasure on a couple of other occasions. He showed up to watch us at a pickleball tournament in Mesa last year. We may have enjoyed two adult beverages after the matches. He helped me get over my losses. 😃

Yes AZ has a variety of places to live, to see. We have thoroughly enjoyed our relocation to NW AZ.

Hi Ray Henson,
After purchasing a home in Sedona almost 20 years ago, I am still amazed at the total misconception of the weather in Arizona and how different it is all over the state.
This is one of the reasons my husband created a website. I still get questions on the weather and I have about 12 years of Sedona weather to refer to!

Thank you very much, Ray, for telling us about the area.
Your post might attract more retirees to the area.

Hello Sheri Sperry - MCNE®! We have been here quite a few times over the last few years and we were still surprised at the winter weather. We almost gave away all of our winter clothes to Goodwill. Thank goodness Mary Margaret said that we should hold off until we made it through one winter.
Thank you, Roy. I do meet people every day that have rented here and are considering moving here permanently. I hope you and Chef Dolores are doing well!
Thank you, Lise Howe and thank you for letting me know that Carol shared it. I missed that and I need to say thank you to her! I hope you are doing well!
Hi Ray:
What a fun and informative introduction to your new home in AZ. The photos are wonderful. Hope you are settled in but still finding all sorts of new things to discover about Pebble Creek and the surrounding area.

Thank you, Jeff Dowler, CRS. We are finding new things to do. Last night, I went to my first Cactus League game to watch the Reds play. The stadium is about 5 miles from my house and the stadium is very nice. The food was great too!
