What Makes Prospect CT A Fine Place to Call Home? Part 2 Prospect CT is blessed to have services that are often the envy of some of the neighboring towns. The house that was once the home for the Hotchkiss family farm is now the towns' museum. The farmland itself is now a town recreation area and almost at the town center. Friday Flags in Prospect 06712 On my way back home this afternoon, I noticed our flag flying heartly on the town green. It was inspiring enough for me to loop back to capture. It is framed by the Veteran's monument on the green and the building at the rear is the original Meeting house. Prospect CT Center Decorated with Flags We are starting the Memorial Day weekend and many consider it the kick off to summer as well. The central intersection of town was adorned this past week with flags on all the poles with a 1/2 mile of the intersection. It's not unusual as each year we get a new batch of flags which will last through the fall. Once mentioned by Money magazine as one of the top 300 towns in the country, we still consider ourselves one of the best and certainly one of the most patriotic. For Mother's Day the Yard was in Bloom It was a horrible winter and spring has been slow to present itself, but for this Mother's Day in Prospect, CT, the blossoms were out to celebrate. Mother Nature gave us a 80 degree day and the cheers from around the yard were deafening.

Spring Found it's Way to Prospect CT We have officially found Spring here in Prospect CT, after such a long cold snowy winter. My crocus's made their way, quickly and then we got another snap of cold. The daffodils are out and they are shining all over the yard. They are a welcome addition to a garden as the multiply so well. A Teaser of Spring in Prospect CT March 22 2014 It was such a welcome day, with a warmer sunny sky, a typical March breeze and temperatures just shy of 60. With the winter we've had so far this year, people took full advantage of the opportunity to just enjoy the reprieve. Hotchkiss Field in the center of Prospect CT was open and many people took to the park to just stretch and enjoy the day.

The Prospect CT public library is resuming it's Chess for Children program, starting on Monday, January 27 and running on very Monday through March 31. Frozen Fingers Lifting to the Prospect CT Sky Wednesday Photo It's winter here in the Northeast like so many other parts of the country. The storm that came in yesterday dropped 4 inches of snow before turning to rain with temperatures below freezing. The morning gave us a crisp blue sky that provided a perfect contrast to the iced trees that line so may of our Prospect CT roadways.
