There are some things in your life that you may look back upon and say "I hope I never do that again". All too often, you look back and say, "I really should have known better."Once case in point. I had the keys to a new home where the garage was detached from the home. Now, I didn't know the neighborhood and so out of an abundance of caution, I locked the door behind me. When I came back to that door 15 minutes later, do you know what I found? None of the keys that I was given unlocked that door. $125 to the locksmith.  Thank you very much.Needless to say, I now double check the keys before I lock any door the first time. You only do that once.

Cappadocia and the Kaya HotelThis area is one of the most unique areas that I have ever visited.  Our tour arrived via bus very late at night to the Kaya Hotel, so we really did not have any idea what we were about to witness. Our first real surprise was the hotel itself.  It is a hotel carved out of the rock, common in the surrounding area.  It made for a cramped bathroom, but the rooms were cozy and the bar area was very cool. The characteristic topography around Cappadocia is rock created by volcanic ash that hardened over time into soft rock.  Those living in the area have carved entire cities underground and created homes out of rocks that jet up out of the ground. They are called Fairy Chimneys.  Many Fairy Chimneys and man made caves were visible right off of our balcony.  Imagine...

Never Ever Give Up. HAPPY MONDAY TO YOU. Henry Ford, the visionary American industrialist and founder of the Ford Motor Company, left a lasting legacy not only in the automotive industry but also in the realm of personal development and success. One of his most famous quotes, "Whether you think that you can, or can't - you're right," is a timeless reminder of the incredible influence our thoughts and beliefs have on our actions and outcomes. In this blog post, we will delve deeper into the profound wisdom encapsulated in this quote and explore how it can shape our lives for the better.   The Influence of Mindset At first glance, Ford's quote may seem simple, but its implications are profound. It underscores the significance of mindset and self-belief in achieving success. Let's break it...

Whether in business, politics, or your personal life…if you have to put someone else down to feel good about what you’re doing or yourself, you’ve already lost the battle.     Motivational Monday…Focus On YOU and What You Can Do   The game many were watching this weekend was an excellent example of how trash-talking only highlights your own weaknesses.   The week leading up to the game, the opposing coach (Coach N)  made a negative comment about the other coach's (Coach P) attire.  It wasn’t football-related or necessary. El Arroyo is an iconic local spot in Austin. They make the best hand-squeezed margaritas and serve Black Angus beef tacos (along with many other Tex- Mex offerings) and have since 1975!A quirky marquee is out front on the corner of West 5th and Campbell. Every day they change their bill board with a new pun (everything imaginable).  They encourage you to submit your pun on their website and of course have permission to post them. It’s one of those “Keep Austin Weird” things that we all in Austin love! They post them on Instagram because everyone loves them. Our own Myrl Jeffcoat follows them as well as Kathy Streib and chef Endre Barath, Jr.! I also see Debe Maxwell, CRS has been following them. We all need some laughter or a chuckle each day! It's fun checking out the new pun each day. ...

As far back as I can remember I've heard of sleep walking... probably due to cartoons with very funny results. That being said I have never seen a person sleep walk.On the other hand I have seen people multi-task. Some seem to do it well while others not so well. Doing a little research it seems experts agree:The most interesting story I read was in Lifespan, Delivering health with care in an article called  Multitasking and How It Affects Your Brain Health byJennifer E. Davis, PhD January 26, 2023.I enjoyed the article BUT these two tidbits stood out. Multitasking is also associated with symptoms of depression and  anxiety.Jan 26, 2023One correlational study showed that individuals who are high media  multitaskers have smaller brain volumes in an area of the brain  known as the cingula...

Speechless Sunday: Which photos do you like better? Just as a background the other day I spent about 4.5 hours at Verizon transferring my Samsung Galixy7 data to my new Samsung Galaxy S23 phone. Well, that is another post to be covered later. One of the new features of the S23 is that there are food foto features. Now with that said please tell me which photos you like better the Featured one? or the one above. Will do the same for the ones below too:)Again, thank you for your input.  look forward to your choice:) The reason I am so curious is because one of it is regular photo and the other according to my new phone camera is "food photo" feature:)Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Having the right tools is critical not just in real estate but in cooking as well.... Tonight's meal was interrupted with a few technical issues, nothing that I could not overcome thanks to having the right tools.Well, the Pizza Stone cracked in the middle of my baking.... Keep in mind my meal was inspired by Debe Maxwell, CRS  about the Maryland Cauliflower Crabcake Pizza Recipe. Since Diane loves Crabcakes from Maryland thought this would be a great way to finish up her birthday vacation. Anyway, as you can see the pizza stone decided to retire tonight:)  The prepping took a bit longer, but I anticipated it and planned for it, based on the recipe.... The most important part Diane loved the result and felt bad that my Pizza Stone decided to retire:) Now all things considered despite th...

The game ended up going into double overtime. The winner?  Coach P and his team.  Focusing on putting your competitor down never works in the long run. You may have a moment of feeling good about yourself but what it does is show others that YOU are the one lacking something…usually character or confidence.  And if you are building a team or leading a company, this attitude trickles down all levels. Coach N’s team had 17 penalties which cost the...
