Reporting Issues in Colorado Springs Neighborhoods is now even easier with the GO COS!

It's for all the things you want to tell the city about, but you're not sure how to do it or who to contact. App available in the App Store and on Google Play.

What You Can Report and Who You Can Contact

You can report potholes, illegal camps, traffic issues, neighborhood issues, graffiti, roads and sidewalk issues, streetlights and utilities problems, water and stormwater concerns, as well as many other subcategories. Also, you can contact the most common city departments including parks and recreation services, Colorado Springs Police Department, Colorado Springs Fire Department, and City Forestry. Dive in a bit deeper to find contact information and submit requests to the City Attorney's Office, City Auditor, City Clerk, City Communications, City Council, City Engineering, City Finance Department, COS Airport, Economic Development, Housing and Community Vitality, Mountain Metro Transit, and even the Mayor's Office.

Why Use the GO COS! App?

Reporting Issues to Colorado Springs city government There's plenty of reasons you might want to contact the city and often local citizens are Googling and guessing. This app has been a lifesaver for me as a Colorado Springs real estate agent, both providing a resource for my clients but also reaching out to the city when I'm in need of a resource and want to find the right contact. Here's some of the reasons you might want to contact the city, and you can do it all from the Go COS! app:

Potholes

We've all hit a pothole and wished someone knew about it! You connect directly with Public Works who prioritizes repairs in coordinating with planned maintenance schedules. In fact, if there's damage to your car you can even file a claim in the app if you feel the city was negligent in not repairing the pothole leading to damage of your vehicle.

Illegal Camps

Camps on waterways and other violations of the camping ordinance. Keep in mind, someone living in their car is not illegal unless they're parked illegally or on private property without permission.

Traffic Issues

The stoplight is not going through cycles correctly or even pedestrian lights and crossings that need flagged, the traffic issues category covers a wide variety of street signs and safety issues.

Neighborhood Services

Think of code enforcement issues, with either your neighbors or someone in the neighborhood (Homelessness Prevention and Response falls under this category). Typically, this category is for improving a neighborhood, through clean up efforts, code enforcement, or even zoning and land use information. It's a key category for new homebuyers who want to learn about rezoning and what is allowed on their property.

Graffiti

We all love unique, original art ... but not when it's on a bridge underpass or retaining wall. This section is self explanatory, so take a quick snap shot of the graffiti and tag the location in the app so our graffiti team can clean it up before it becomes a bigger problem.

Roads and Sidewalks

What is that in the middle of the road?! Street debris, ice and snow removal, illegal dumping, spills, deceased animals (road kill), and even questions about the City's infrastructure improvement efforts under Issue 2C. You can also report damages to sidewalks, curbs, and gutters using this option.

Utilities

Streetlights, power outages, water main breaks all fall under Colorado Springs Utilities and it's best to contact them directly if it's an emergency, however you can report all these non-urgent issues in the app.

Water and Stormwater

A sprinkler is shooting straight into the air instead of water grass, spills and illegal dumping into creeks, and inquire about the Stormwater system.

Parks and Rec (just like the show) and Cultural Services

Start here if you're wanting to volunteer, but also for trails and parks maintenance or adopting a trail. They also handle special events and manage youth sports and community centers.

Police and Fire

Obviously, submitting a request in the app is for non-emergency items. There's a wide variety of options, to compliment or make a complaint about police officers, school zone speeding, neighborhood issues, violations of ADA parking and more on the police. Same with Colorado Springs Fire Department, you can set up station tours and engine visits, as well as report fire hazards.

Trees / City Forestry

If a tree on city property has fallen, grown too close to power lines, or other general tree services requests. You can also get a permit to work on a city tree or plant one in a city right-of-way. Keep in mind the city does not maintain trees on private property, so if your neighbors tree is hanging over the sidewalk you would want to contact Neighborhood Services (aka Code Enforcement).
