Saturday's Shots - Being Thankful for What We Have
This evening after dinner, Ray and I set out to the deck with Maddie & Gabby to watch the sunset. The 'preliminary' show was indicative of a masterfully designed painting that was about to be unfurled across the sky. I actually thought this evening would be a great time to do a before & after. We have noticed that about 20 minutes before the sun sets, when the sky is deep blue, it is usually the foundation to a spectacular sunset to come.
We waited, in anticipation, as the sky and the clouds grayed, leaving only light gray and dark gray stripes in the sky. There was literally no indication that the sun was setting at the time it was supposed to be setting.
Our 'before' picture was the most beautiful our sky was this evening - and when we took another look at the photo, we realized we had taken for granted the beauty in the sky during the 'pre-sunset!'
Perhaps this was a lesson to ponder about appreciation and being grateful for what we have...
I'll leave you with that thought late this Saturday evening!
