Our little Norman (the black and white pup) has been with us for a year now. And he's doing so well! He's 3 and Barney is 15 so there has been a lot of adjusting for their age difference but I think they've got it figured out between the two of them. Barney makes it clear when Norman is being a little too pesky and Norman knows when to back away. He actually looks after Barney now and let' me know if he thinks Barney needs attention. So sweet!
Norman had no idea of what 'treat' meant when he first arrived in his new home. It took about 6 months before he really figured out what treats were all about. And now...............ZOOM..............if he 'thinks' he hears the treat jar being opened, he ZOOMS across the room - or the house - and then sits down, real pretty, waiting for his treat along with Barney. Ht took quite awhile for him to figure out 'sit' but after watching his big brother for months we think he's finally got it! It's just so cute seeing him snarf down his little pieces of joy, joy joy.
He's brought our home so much joy this past year. It's hard to imagine life without this little bundle of love! He previous parents were moving out of state and couldn't take Norman with them. And I'm glad it turned out that way! I can't imagine having to leave the little guy behind - I really can't. He's found his forever home.
Did I mention WALK? OMG Norman and Barney both love their morning and evening walks with their Dad! It's quite the tug of war between the two of them wanting to take the lead. Drives Gary a little bonkers from time to time but they eventually calm down.
After their evening walk they both get their 'extra special treat! Oh and they so know it's coming every night! We set it up so they have to ZOOM around the living room, through the dining room into the kitchen to arrive at their special treat! Nothing better than little cut up pieces of Costco rotisserie chicken. Yum! Yum! They're not spoiled - just loved!
This Thanksgiving we are truly blessed with our little 'boys'! Happy Pups!
