Enrolling at the University of Dallas and graduating with a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management in December 2002, was just the beginning of my gratitude for its Staff, Faculty, and curriculums at this leading Catholic University's widely recognized school of higher education and excellence.
During the past several years, I have been invited to enjoy a private performance to experience an evening of creative fusion at the Spring and Fall Concert Series by The Crowley Chamber Trio of the University of Dallas. Monday's performance on September 25th, 2023, was an evening filled with musical creativity beyond imagination. At the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas, Texas, I had a front row seat to immerse my eyes, ears, heart and soul while I joyfully listened to the extraordinary talent of The Crowley Chamber Trio performed by:
Krisin Van Cleve, violin
Marie Thais Oliver, violoncello
Andrey Ponocheovny, piano
The impact of professional talent by musical academicians on myself, and others, young and old alike, filled the space with heavenly music which included:
Piano Trio in A Minor, Op. 150, Amy Marcy Beach (1867 - 1944)
Allegro
Lento espressivo
Allegro con brio
Piano Trio in B-Flat Major, Op.99, Franz Peter Schubert (1797 - 1828)
Allegro moderato
Andante un poco mosso
Scheerzo: Allero
Rondo: Allegro vivace
Each musician's talent for playing classical music is widely recognized all over the world. They have performed extensively in the Dallas area, including various locations in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
The music composed by Amy Marcy Cheney Beach included contemporary music from the turn of the 20th century. The second half was one of the most beloved of all Schubert's chamber works, the B-flat major. Inside the room of the Biblical Museum of Art there were no voices singing, but my heart was silently soaring with the notes. Twice a year, I am one of the lucky ones to be completely immersed in peace.
Today is Thursday, September 28, 2023. It is a day to give thanks. I am especially grateful to The Crowley Chamber Trio from the University of Dallas. To learn more about the music, culture, curriculums, and the arts program offered to students, visit music@udallas.edu. Also, I give special thanks to Marilyn for her years of dedication coordinating the concerts. A reception immediately followed the program offering wonderful time to mingle and reconnect with the University of Dallas community and the general public in attendance.
Note: Photographs are forbidden inside the Museum of Biblical Arts. I highly recommend buying a ticket to view the art when the museum is open. Listening to perfection, and witnessing the skill of focus, encourages me to practice being better at what I do. Experiencing education, art, and culture is the gift I give myself. I encourage you to do the same.
