Thankful for the Phone Call That Put Me onto ActiveRain
My ride on Active Rain has been a journey of 15 years and may well go for some time yet. It was a phone call from a loan officer that had just found the platform and was impressed with the response he got when he did a blog and ping.
I signed on and spent time appreciating how active some members were with their daily blog posts. I did not know how to blog and did not want to post something that would demonstrate my ineptness for posterity.
It did change, however, as there were blog challenges, those mega events called RainCamps, tutorials on ActiveRain U, and the reality that blogging will get better with time.
There were technology posts that came on with some frequency that offered insights to trends that were coming as well as changes to phones, computers, etc. Many of these info-blogs were insightful and far ahead of what we might learn from our own brands
The phenonium that is ActiveRain, however, were the friends and contacts that eventually developed and nurtured over the years.
The Community of ActiveRain are a kind and generous group of people. Even after all these years, there are members that offer their knowledge and assistance on keeping up with SEO trends in order to make our work easier.
The weekly interaction on the Zoom calls carries much similarity to the RainCamps for the social interaction of the attendees, as well as the topics offered by the presenters.
Active as a platform is in another state of evolution, especially if it is going to make a return on the investment made by its current ownership. The change will not be made overnight but it is getting there and at some point, in the not-too-distant future it will return to some of its grand glory for the exposure of its members.
I am happy I listened to that person that made the call to make me aware of the platform and all it has done for me over the years.
This is a post for 4 for the November Gratitude Challenge hosted by Debe Maxwell.
