So when I got the idea for The Georgia Craft Brewery Tour, it was 2019. Late 2019 in fact. And while I have been to a few since then, the blogging about it kinda went to the wayside with this b*tch called COVID! It really threw a monkey wrench into a whole lot of activities, right?

But....let's fast forward .... 26 MONTHS!!! .... and the tour has returned. Now I first have to admit, beer and the desire to drop some pounds from your waistline are not the best match. UGH! There's a reason it's called beer belly.....but...I'll just have to work harder to work it off!

So, yesterday (Saturday) with the not so warm winter weather of Atlanta making me stir crazy and a case of cabin fever, I said to my husband, "Let's go for a drive. Someplace." We ended up headed North on I-85 towards Commerce and the Tanger Outlet Center. Why, I'm not sure, because I did not need to spend or buy anything...but the Michael Kors store won and I got a new wallet for a cool $98.00! (But it's an outlet, so I didn't pay THAT much.....)

As we left, I was looking t Google Maps for an alternative to the straight shot that the freeway is back home. And I thought....hey....Google "Breweries Near Me...." and well, the road led us to Braselton Brewing Company in the quaint little town of....yeah, Braselton. If you are from Georgia, you probably associate Braselton with Chateau Elan Resort and Winery. But that's over on the OTHER side of I-85....and an exit before you get to Hwy 53. And I had never seen the actual town of Braselton....which is where I found this brewery.

A quick bit of history about it... The brewery was started by Chip Dale and Robin Rose. From what I can read on their website, they were not beer brewers by trade....and far from it. But during a trip through the Pacific Northwest back in 2015, the stopped at a brewpub everynight. (Oregon and Washington are kinda the birthplace of the craft brew craze, now industry.) Convinced that the brewpub experience, coupled with craft beer was just what Braselton needed..I guess you could say the rest is history.

I asked the ever-so-handsome bar back if the place was new construction or some old structure that had been converted and he was not 100% sure. (I think he was fairly new to his job) But he said he thought it had been some old mill before.

Whatever it was before...it's something totally awesome now. (I wish I had one like this in my ITP Doraville!) We had dined on delish fast food earlier (bummer) but I think a meal here would have been awesome! Just the simple chips with beer sauce were great!

And then....the beer.... I started off the best way you can at a brewery...with a flight of 4 beers that give you a good chance to sample and find the best one you like. For this one, it was $10. Here we had "The Hefe, Jederzeit Lager, Tectonic Shift IP and the Coffee Milk Stout. All were good, but I opted for two of the Lager once I had finished the flight.

I'm not a beer snob, and can't sit here and say "oh this place sucks compared to _______" Because each brewery is an experience in and of themselves. Let's just say I wish this one was not 36 miles from my house.....60+ miles for a beer is a bit much...

They have a good sized bar, seating next to the bar that in warmer weather has roll-up windows overlooking the outdoor patio and pet friendly area. That was one of Chip and Robin's ideas they saw in the Northwest and wanted to bring to their brewpub...Fido is welcome with open arms!

I admit, I'll sneak back as I have clients that purchased a home closer out in this area, and it will be the perfect place for us to meet!

It looks like a fun place to try some tasty beers.

I don't mind having a few beers but as you mentioned the beer belly is definitely a negative side effect, haha.
