What Makes Prospect CT A Fine Place to Call Home?

The residents of Prospect CT enjoy a quality of life that is unique and different than the residents of surrounding towns.  While enjoying a simple non-commercial town, there are many pleasantries enjoyed that come to be enjoyed by neighboring town's residents.

First, Prospect CT was established in 1827 and is located in the Northwest corner of New Haven county surrounded by Bethany, Waterbury, Cheshire, and Naugatuck. The town is 5 miles long and 4 miles wide with a population of approximately 9,959 as of the year 2020.

The town has been recognized by Money magazine as one of the best small towns in the United states and has many residents proud to call Prospect "The Best Small Town in Connecticut.

As a small town, the residents still find ways to socialize an enjoy the seasons to their best advantage. Wednesday nights throughout the summer months there are the concerts on the green.

For over 36 years, at the end of the summer the town gathers on the Green and the adjacent lots for the Sock Hop and Car Show that has had as many as 600 vehicles on display. For the afternoon, live bands play songs from the 60's 70's and 80's to the toe taping joy of those walking the grounds.

The Fall Festival is fun for the school children that decorate pumpkins and as they are displayed on the town green, prizes are awarded for each of the grades presented. The town green is the location for games, a modified maize and vendors with food as well.

One of the attractions of Prospect CT is a modern, state of the art school system as well as a well-managed town that has low property taxes and home values that make it very affordable for a growing family.

For a town so small, it is still possible to get groceries, a breakfast, lunch, or dinner at a pick of restaurants, do banking, visit a lawyer, dentist, accountant, drop into a CVS to fill a prescription, and get gas.

The town is not closed, but properties do move quickly as others seek to enjoy the pleasantries of our little town.

If you would like to find your little slice of heaven and would like to move to Prospect CT, I can help you find the home that.

Hi Ed... enjoyed your post about Prospect, CT. I've never lived in a small town. Charlotte is the smallest city I've ever lived in. But I've always wondered about how it would be to live in a smaller town.
