Debe Maxwell came up with a great contest that we all should love when we live. I came Colorado in the early 70's for the ski slopes and the great powder snow with my college friends and fell in love with the state. I knew after college of where I wanted to live. Denver has lots to enjoy from the DENVER BRONCOS, DENVER, NUGGETS at the time. Since them we have a great hockey team and now the Rockies for baseball. The ski slopes are close by and has some of the longest seasons to ski, I think the latest I ski was June 5 many years ago.
But wait there is so much more in the Denver city it self. The National Stock show and rodeo is in January. 
It has so many pro rodeo riders from the whole United States that come for the prize money. I was luck to have a friend from Pennsylvania that made it out to compete in the barrel racing many years ago. The stock show has lots of great champion animals that sell for top dollar and helps future college kids out with their winnings.
You must go to RED ROCKS and enjoy concerts, it is so unique. Groups like the Steve Miller Band coming this year, others greats from the past years were John Denver, The Beatles and Jimmy Hendricks. It is a must see for sure.
Of course, the weather is some of the best in the nation. It does not get all the snow that people think, yes we get a major snow maybe every 8 years of 28 inches of snow but we have 300 days of sunshine each year. Lots of times in the winter months we have 60's days weather most days. With the dry heat we have you can wear a t-shirt if it is 30 degrees outside for a short period of times. Wearing a heavy jacket is not really a think except maybe one or two weeks each winter
Funny I did not use my snow blower at all in 2022 and 2021. So far in 2023, I use it once
The nice think is you can see snow in the mountains from lots of areas in Denver year round.
So many people come and vacation in the Denver area since you are so close to the mountains and places like Estes Park are within 90 minutes of Denver and we have lots of wildlife up there. I wish Debe and Ray had time when they were here in Denver to visit the Mountains, maybe next time.
You do not want to miss downtown area also, it is lite year round also and has lots of broadways plays that can be seen year round.
You are close to Golden where the Coors brewery is, once you could only get Coors Beer in a couple of states and people would fill up their trunks of car and take it across states lines ( I know, I did a few times)
Come on out to Denver, you may be like me and stay for years!
