What Makes Prospect CT A Fine Place to Call Home? Part 2

Prospect CT is blessed to have services that are often the envy of some of the neighboring towns. The house that was once the home for the Hotchkiss family farm is now the towns' museum.

The farmland itself is now a town recreation area and almost at the town center. The land is level and affords activities such as baseball, soccer, walking/running tracks; basketball courts; volleyball; in season ice skating, and a large playscape for kids with a gateway titled Field of Dreams.

Behind town hall are tennis courts that are also used with moveable nets for pickleball, and adjacent to that is McGrath Park, which is stocked with fish for town anglers.

1

There's a little league complex with 5 diamonds and a singular field for special games.

In addition to the practice fields, there's a snack bar; batting cage; bleachers for those special games filled with parents; and plenty of parking.

Further down New Haven Rd, RT 69 are 2 additional recreation areas. Canfield Park has tennis courts, and smaller nets for pickleball, a large soccer field and baseball diamond and a smaller playscape.

Caplan Park has another soccer/football field as well as baseball diamonds.

Several of the recreation areas also offer sitting areas to just commune with nature or picnic tables to enjoy an outdoor lunch or snack.

All are well maintained and offer plenty of parking.

In addition, there's the Prospect Senior center which is a most active facility for residents and many a non-resident as well.

There are all manner of things for active seniors to do from trips all over the area to lectures on improving one's health, casino trips and on the day, I was there, bocce competition.

.There are lots of activities and play areas for kids of all ages.

The town is not closed, but properties do move quickly as others seek to enjoy the pleasantries of our little town.

If you would like to find your little slice of heaven and would like to move to Prospect CT, I can help you find the home that.

If you are a property owner interested in knowing current market trends in the area, reach out to me at 203-206-0754.

Having plenty of farmland is so important, it is really sad to see the government trying to get rid of it.

Good morning Ed. Nice to know what is available in Prospect CT. As long as the grandkids are in Chicago, so are we according to the wife. Enjoy your day.

Good morning, Ed... so nice to see farm land converted to something that all local residents can enjoy and not just to another development of cookie-cutter homes.

Brian England   We have several large farm tracts still in town, although none of them are working farms anymore.

Wayne Martin   I understand that all too well as that is why we are still in CT.

Hi Ed,

It is easy to see why Prospect is the envy of surrounding communities.  Lots to do, lots of amenities, and a town that responds to community needs.
